This archive exists to preserve our family’s history and make it available to the family. Personal information is collected only when needed to run the site. It is handled carefully, seen by as few people as possible, and you may ask to see, correct, or remove information about you at any time.
WhereWeComeFrom.org is a private family archive managed by Todd Cohn. Todd may authorize other family members to help administer the site.

When you sign in with Google, the site receives your name and email address. Your password stays with Google.

Server records are used to keep the site working and prevent automated abuse. What is opened and searched for is used to see which parts of the family history people are looking for, and which searches come back empty so that something can be done about them. It stays on this server.
The site has no advertising or outside analytics and does not track visits to other websites.
Your information is used to let you sign in, place your name beside your contributions, respond to your messages, and maintain the archive.
Your name can be seen by signed-in family members beside anything you contribute.
Your email address and account activity can be seen only by Todd and authorized site administrators. They do not appear on the site.
Accounts are for people aged 13 and older. Younger children may participate with an adult family member using the adult’s account only.
You may ask to remove your account, something you contributed, or a photo of you or someone in your care.
The archive is stored on a server and backed up nightly.
Accounts and contributions are kept for as long as the archive exists.
The archive is run from the United States, and its server is located there.
If a security problem puts your personal information at risk, you will be notified as quickly as possible.
